Bruges, Belgium

Salut mes amies! Last weekend we took a quick trip to Bruges, Belgium and spent a couple of days exploring the towns' beautiful streets and canals. We stayed in a gorgeous bed & breakfast in the centre of town www.b-bverhulst.com, owned by the lovely multi-lingual couple Frieda & Benno - they made us feel right at home and cooked up the most amazing breakfast feast each morning. Despite the freezing temperatures, it was a good time to visit Bruges, as we were almost the only tourists in town and we were able to enjoy our beer, chocolate & waffles with all the friendly locals. Apart from yummy winter food, Bruges is also famous for traditional lace craft - there is a wonderful lace museum in town, where you can see all of the women at work. We didn't make it to the museum, but I enjoyed nothing more than poking in and out of all the wee lace shops, as well as some superb vintage lace & fabric stores, where I almost bought everything on offer! Unfortunately my camera didn't make much of an appearance on this trip (it was too cold to take my hands out of my pockets!) but here are a few pics I managed to snap before frost bite set in. Bisous x
